"Nothing on the island was wasted, not even the dead." -Burial

Helena Bell is a Nebula nominated speculative fiction writer currently living in Chattanooga, TN. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Clarkesworld, Lightspeed, Strange Horizons, The Indiana Review, The Dark, Drabblecast, and Rattle.

Helena has MFAs in Poetry and Fiction from Southern Illinois University in Carbdonale and North Carolina State University respectively. In 2013 she attended the Clarion West Writers Workshop in Seattle, Washington.

She has other graduate degrees, but it has started to reach the point of ridiculousness so they won't be listed here. Suffice it to say that there are more letters following her name than are actually in it. She is also a certified cave diver and former SCUBA Instructor. She likes bees, semi-colons, and single malt Scotches.
